Nazanin Anwary
Founder
Nazanin Anwary is the founder of Let Her Learn, an initiative dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for Afghan girls and young women. She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego and will begin graduate studies at Columbia University in Fall 2026. Through Let Her Learn, she works to increase access to education, mentorship, and opportunities for students facing barriers to learning.
Mastura Kaihani
Volunteer Educator & Mentor
Mastura Kaihani is a pre-med Health Sciences student at the University of New Haven. She is passionate about education, mentorship, and community service. Through Let Her Learn, she supports Afghan girls by teaching English, providing mentorship, and promoting mental health and wellbeing to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
Amirah Riddick
Volunteer Educator & Mentor
Amirah Riddick is an undergraduate Psychology student at SUNY Oswego with aspirations of becoming a neuropsychologist. She is passionate about education, research, and advocacy, with over five years of experience tutoring students from kindergarten through college level. Through Let Her Learn, she supports students in English language learning, STEM education, digital literacy, college and career preparation, leadership development, and mental health and wellbeing. She is committed to creating a supportive learning environment where girls can grow with confidence and pursue their educational goals.
Mohammad Afzal Urguni
Volunteer Educator & Mentor
Mohammad Afzal Urguni is a business development and strategic marketing professional with experience across financial services, banking, advisory, and donor-funded sectors. His expertise includes business development, strategic planning, digital marketing, partnership development, client relationship management, and AI tools. As a volunteer teacher and mentor at Let Her Learn, he supports students through mentorship, digital literacy, leadership development, arts and creative activities, and mental health and well-being. He is passionate about empowering young people through education, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
Zahra Joya
Volunteer Coordinator
Zahra Joya is an Afghan youth advocate passionate about education, leadership, and creating opportunities for girls and young people. With experience in teaching, educational publishing, and volunteer coordination, she supports Let Her Learn by managing volunteer communications and helping coordinate team activities. She is committed to empowering others through education, service, and collaboration.
Lifting Oseiwel
Volunteer – Mentorship & Leadership
Lifting Oseiwel is a nutrition professional, content writer, and published author with a passion for education, communication, and youth empowerment. She holds a BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria. As a volunteer mentor with Let Her Learn, she supports students through mentorship and leadership development, helping young women build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their goals.
Shujoat Shah Nasimi
Volunteer Educator
Shujoat Shah Nasimi is a newly admitted student at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Aga Khan University, where he plans to pursue Social Development Studies. With more than two years of experience in education, youth empowerment, and capacity building, he is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. As a volunteer educator with Let Her Learn, he supports students in English language and Mathematics/STEM, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for academic success.
Fatema Daresufi
Volunteer Educator
Fatema Daresufi is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of the People. She has experience in photography, digital storytelling, project coordination, and leading community projects. Fatema aspires to continue her education at a university abroad and is committed to expanding her knowledge while creating meaningful impact through education and leadership.
Arifa Izatullah
Volunteer Educator
Arifa recently completed her Bachelor's degree and plans to attend medical school. She has experience supporting refugees, serving as a college advisor, and currently works at the Department of Health and Human Services. Arifa is passionate about helping underserved communities and is committed to making a positive impact through healthcare, education, and public service.
Wahida Haidari
Student Program Assistant
Wahida Haidari is an Afghan student who successfully graduated from two schools simultaneously through dedication and perseverance. In addition to her academic achievements, she volunteers as an English teacher and actively participates in leadership and coding courses. As a Student Coordinator at the Let Her Learn Foundation, she is committed to supporting students and working closely with the team. She enjoys helping others, learning new skills, and making a positive impact in her community.
